Part-time Seasonal Sales Associate

We are searching for qualified salespeople to work in our Channel Islands Flagship Store. This position is responsible for maintaining customer service standards and complying with all CI procedures in meeting sales goals and protecting company assets. The position is also responsible for supporting management and staff in the implementation of promotions, visuals, store maintenance and all other sales functions.

Successful candidates will have 1-3 years retail experience, be out-going and energetic and possess excellent communication and customer service skills. A strong background and knowledge of surf products and an application are required.

**This position requires at least 16 hours/week with the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays**
  






Marketing & Sales Director

The Marketing & Sales Director is a critical role within the Channel Islands Surfboards leadership team.  Located at the company’s headquarters in Carpinteria, California and reporting to the General Manager, the Marketing & Sales Director will be responsible for overseeing global brand awareness, consumer engagement, and growth of the sport while enhancing consumer experiences to help drive profitability.  The role will provide marketing and sales leadership by developing multi-channel (wholesale, distributor, and direct to consumer) distribution and go to market strategies resulting in sustainable long-term growth, maximum revenue, profit, and market share for Channel Islands.  

What You Get To Do:  

  • Create short and long-term strategies and activation plans for key brand stories.
  • Interface with product managers regarding sales, product issues and opportunities for accounts in the channel.
  • Manage a team of external sales reps.
  • Develop and support annual and quarterly targets.
  • Develop and manage product launches from conception to activation.
  • Accurately manage forecasts and budgets.
  • Create and oversee sales programs and meetings.
  • Oversee and develop digital marketing strategies and activation.
  • Evaluate marketplace capacity, market share availability, and consumer demand.
  • Prioritize retailers and develop consumer-focused account strategies.
  • Oversee events and team management.
  • Oversee the development of point of purchase displays and in-store exhibits and collateral.
  • Participate in product development to relay product needs for each channel.

 What You’ll Bring to the Team:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or another appropriate field.
  • Candidate must have 5-7 years of direct brand marketing and sales management experience.
  • Experience in both consumer and customer (retailer) sectors, ideally within surfboard or action sport and lifestyle industry.
  • This position requires an understanding of the needs, trends, fashions etc. of the company’s core consumer as well as the competitive market. This could be achieved either through prior work experience or individual participation in the sport.
