For this event, Kelly had a couple remakes of the two epoxy boards he rode in the NYC, Trestles and all through Europe. Each had made the trip, but have been buckled several times and repaired. He made sure to have a few fresh ones waiting for him upon his arrival to the city by the bay. The conditions could range from smooth glassy three-footers to unruly monsters. With the rumor that they will be without jet skis assist, who knows — it could be a paddling contest and we may only see one or two waves ridden by each surfer . Anyway, that’s where a few fuller and longer step ups could come into play.
