Proton Step-Up
Model Description
The Proton Step-Up is now the most common step-up in use with the CI team. With its pronounced rocker, it is a natural choice for steep faces and on-rail surfing. Single concave gives the board plenty of drive for critical situations.

I need your advice of which board to buy for a second step up board for waves size of overhead to double overhead.
I have already a Fred Rubble 5’9 x 18 5/8 x 2 3/16 round and I am looking for a second board for bigger waves , overhead to double overhead.
My weight is 155 and I am an expert level surfer. So which board and specific measurements would you recommend?
Thanks,
Best,
PJ
PJ,
The Proton at somewhere between 5’11 to 6’2″ at 18 5/8 x 2 3/16.
Or an SemiPro12 a the same length and width but at 2 1/4.
Both would need to be custom and with a round pin.

I have the same question as PJ, as to what dimensions you would reccomend for either a Proton or SemiPro step up. I whiegh about 180 and i am an advanced surfer. My current every day board is 6’0 by 18 and 1/2 and 2.25 thick.
Thanks guys,
Joe
Joe,
You must be in some good waves as that is a low volume Proton for 180.
If you are likeing that Proton, just blow up the length 3″ to 6″ depending on the size waves you are looking at.
Thanks for the speedy response! And my current board is Whip not a Proton I think its about 27 or 28L or so, sorry for the confusion.
