Fred Rubble by Conner Coffin

Fred Rubble – “Voted 2011 SIMA Board of the year”
Model Description
“The Fred Rubble is actually quite a bit different than my other boards. It has a lower entry rocker and a wider outline. It has more volume than a Proton, but it isn’t really short and chunky like a Dumpster Diver. It’s just a fun board for waves from waist high to a little over head. I’ve been riding mine two inches shorter than my standard shortboard and 1/4 inch wider. For example, my standard shortboard is a 5’11″ x 18 3/8″ x 2 3/16″ Proton and I ride my Fred Rubble as a 5’9″ x 18 5/8″ x 2 3/16″.
So I’d recommend for you a 5’11″ if your normal board is a 6’1″. - Connor Coffin
Features single to double concave and comes standard in a squash tail.
Designed to be ridden about the same length as you are tall or even 1″ shorter
Experience
Ridden by Conner in all conditions, from low tide Rincon and dumpy HB, to the fat faced mushy stuff. The wide point is forward to skate over flat sections but with more tail kick than a Flyer so it stays tight when turning hard in the pocket.
Dane claimed best turn of his life on this board in the Rip Curl Search Puerto Rico contest in 2010.
Super spicy and the perfect board to fill the gap between your shortboard and your Dumpster Diver.
IDEAL WAVE SIZE
Waist high to a little over head

Hey Ci this is chase. Currently i am riding the stock 6’0 x 19 1/8 x 2 3/8 Fred Rubble and I love it. However in smaller waves i feel i cannot go very vertical in the pocket at times. I have been surfing for many years now and its time for me to get a new board. I was looking at getting either a smaller Fred (love it so much), a DFR, or even a motorboat too or new flyer. I am 5’10 155-160 lbs and i live in carlsbad california and surf here and all spots around this area such as oceanside, encinitas, and trestles at times. I was wondering if you guys could help me out in choosing my next board and dimensions that would best suit me in all surfing conditions. Thanks.
-Chase
Chase – for SoCal average surf, your daily shortboard should be about the same length as you are tall, you Flyer a couple inches shorter (about 5’8″), your Motorboat another couple inches shorter (5’6″). Not being able to go vert in small waves might be due to the board being too long.
So out of those four boards (Fred, DRF, Motorboat Too, and New Flyer) which do you think would suit me best for socal in all conditions.
Chase,
The reason why we have quivers as no board works to its full potential in all conditions, but if you could only use one prob the Fred and then the New Flyer.
Hello.
My height is 5’10” and weight 77 kg
I tried the fred Rubble in 6’0” x 19 ’1/8 x 2 3/8 and made me big and hard to turn as much volume
I’ve had it in 5’11” x 19 ‘x 2′ 5/16 and have felt little volume but the table was incredible
I’m thinking of ordering a 5’10” x 19 ’1/2 x 2′ 5/16
How many liters would have? These measures can go right to me?
Thank you very much for everything
Good waves!
Hi There, I live on the Sunshine coast Queensland Australia I surf varied style beachies and points here, I am looking @ the 6’2 Rubble and 6’2 Tlow and was wondering which would be the best option also best flotation ? I am 6ft 84 kgs 37 surfing 25 years.
Robbie,
They are going to float just about the same (31.8L vs 31.6L), the TLow may paddle slightly easier due to the lower entry rocker. Try this to dial your dims http://cisurfboards.com/suggested_boards.php – CI
