Kelly drives through epic Burleigh tubes and discusses his absence from the Brazil World Tour event
Do we know what board kelly was riding in this clip?
We will ask him, but most likely either a 5’9″ Fred round tail or SP12 round tail.
Has the volume of the SP12 changed? A few months ago a 5’10x 18.5x 2.25 was 25.5L, now on stock list or board selector, volume is listed st 24.9L.
I have original semipro 5.10 18.5 2.25 and I think it’s 24.8L. It works good if the waves have push, but new sp12 seems more all around.
I was trying to decide between 5’9 18 3/& and 5’10 x 18.5, and volume will be deciding factor.
I’m 5’9-5’10 and 155-160.
We will look into this as that is a big change for sure, how many months ago are you talking as the 12 has only been around since Jan.
We will see if the CAD program has been updated.
Ya it was since the 12 came out. I was psyched to see that the volume had increased significantly. I was looking at a 5’10 18.5 2.25 @ 25.5L. My current semipro seems too knifey for 80% of the waves I surf, and I’ve taken to shorter boards recently. so with my previous understanding of the volume increase, 5’9 x 18 3/8 or 5’10 x 18.5 would suit nicely. But if the posted volumes are correct then the 5’9 would be out of the question unless ordered custom (wider). LMK!
As this is the BETA version of this tool, we re-ran the volumes from CAD into the tool and the SP12 was adjusted on May17, a portion of the previous volumes were in error.
Sorry for any confusion.
