What is the difference between the DFR and the Proton?
DFR is flatter in the mid section than the Proton as far as rocker is concerned.
If I wanted to choose between a Dumpster Diver, a Warp, and a Motor boat for the waves in Southern California, which one would you recommend? If you think I should get a different board, please say so. I am 5′ 9″ and weigh about 130 pounds (13 yrs.) Thanks.
those are all very good choices for SoCal
Motor Boat will be the most forgiving and skatey and work the best in the smallest waves.
the Diver will want to be surfed verticle and close to the pocket, will all the rocker it has a wide range of sizes it can work in.
The Warp is right between the two, a good all-rounder.
your should ride these all a couple inches shorter than you are tall if you are intermediate or less.
If you have a specific board model question, please refer to the individual board page and leave your inquiry there. Thank you!
