hi, i am looking at getting an mtfa. Wondering what size board would suit me. Im 6’3 and 195, and 32yrs old advanced surfer. I was thinking that something like a 6’0 x 20x 2 5/16 would be the go. your thoughts? I usually ride a 6’0 x 19 3/4 x 2 5/16 Fred ruble type board and my short board is 6’3 x 19 3/8 x2 5/16. can you also tell me the nose width of a 6’0 mtfa. i know that there are no volumes for this board but if you were to guess it what would they be for a stock 6’0 and 5’11. thanks
Ben,
We estimate volume on a 6’0 x 20x 2 5/16 MTF to be 31L.
You may consider going a little wider
Cheers CI
Hey there CI,
Looking to purchase my first Fred Rubble. I’m a little over 5’10″ and weigh 175lbs. I am an intermediate to advanced and am hung up between the 5’11″ Rubble and the 6’0. Any advice? I would like to think that I will keep improving and don’t want to be held back at all by a bigger board. Even if I have my head in the clouds thinking I’m only a few turns away from soaring through the air, would I find the 6’0″ x 19 x 2 3/8 a bit too floaty for higher performance surfing? And/or would the 5’11 x 19 x 2 5/16″ be a bit on the small side leading to frustration? Any and all thoughts would help tons. Thanks!
Barclay,
Have you tried this board chooser function?

Given your weight, you should consider the 6’0″ or a 5’11″ thats a little wider/thicker.
Cheers CI
Thanks CI. Already ordered the 6’0″. Happy Holidays!
